Richter Gedeon Plc. places outstanding importance on supporting education in the natural sciences. The company considers it crucial to support the early careers of talented young scientists. Since 2020, the foundation has established the Richter Talentum Excellence PhD Scholarship, which is awarded to young people receiving a state scholarship who demonstrate exceptional achievements.
Valentina Nagy, as a PhD student in the Research Group led by István Krizbai, was awarded the two-year scholarship for her project titled "Investigation of age-related changes in white and gray matter pericytes using transcriptome analysis."
Congratulations on the Scholarship!
The research aims to examine the gene expression changes of pericyte cells from different brain regions during aging. Using a protocol developed and optimized in the research group, pericyte cells are isolated through laser microdissection and subjected to transcriptomic analysis. The future results may shed light on the molecular mechanisms in pericytes that play a role in the development of age-related brain disorders.
