Prima Primissima Award was established in 2003 to reward representatives of arts, sports, sciences, culture, education, and media in recognition of excellence in their field, a distinction providing a role model for the next generation. In 2007, founders of the Award decided to create a separate prize to honor the best of the lot among the youth, so the Junior Prima Award was founded. In the category of ‘Hungarian science’, this prize is presented to scientists under the age of 33, who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of Hungarian science with their scientific output, international achievements, educational and community building activities.

This year, Dr Kinga Mészáros-Molnár, a research fellow at the Institute of Biophysics, Neurovascular unit research group won the Junior Prima Award in the category of ‘Biology’. The Award Ceremony took place on 24 November at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where Márton Bókay, the Deputy State Secretary for National Development Financing and Dr. Levente Sipos-Tompa, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors at MFB Hungarian Development Bank gave the awards.
