The Operations Department is a key part of the Economic, Technical and Operational Organization (HUN-REN BRC ETOO) and is responsible for the management of the institution’s infrastructure. The receptionists, janitors and yardmen who work in our department keep the environment of the institution tidy and ensure that working conditions are clean and undisturbed. Our drivers are responsible for the logistics at the HUN-REN BRC.

Our department employs around 20 persons who, through their professional and dedicated work, contribute to the efficient operation of the institution and the effective work of our researchers in an indirect way.

  • Receptionists play an important role in welcoming visitors to the institution and in monitoring the security of the building. They are the first to greet our guests, the “faces” of the institution, who represent the research centre.

  • Janitors are responsible for keeping the interior of buildings clean and in a good state of hygiene. They regularly clean our offices, common areas and other shared social facilities so that our researchers and staff can work in a comfortable and clean environment.

  • Yardmen are responsible for keeping the outdoor areas of the institution clean. They look after landscaped areas, watering and nurturing of plants and maintaining an aesthetic outdoor environment. Thanks to their work, the institution provides an environment where people are happy to work.

  • Drivers are responsible for the operation of the institution's vehicles, which are used to transport the HUN-REN BRC's equipment and passengers. Their flexibility in dealing with logistical challenges is a huge contribution to the efficient functioning of the HUN-REN BRC. Their kindness and adaptability are key factors in passenger transport.

Within our department, the work of the Head of Department is assisted by the Head of Unit, the Financial Officer and the Operations Officer. These roles are key to the coordination between units of the department and the smooth running of day-to-day activities. Our Head of Unit is responsible for coordinating and managing the various units. His responsibilities include overseeing the workflow of the department, ensuring an efficient division of labour and the timely completion of assigned tasks. The Head of Unit assists the Head of Department in strategic planning, project management and motivating our colleagues. By directly managing the department’s activities, they contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. The Financial Officer and the Operations Officer are in charge for the administrative and operational activities of the department. They are also responsible for the flow of information, document management and record keeping.

The Head of Unit, the Financial Officer and Operations Officer support the Head of Department, enabling the Head of Department to focus more on strategic management, decision-making and the achievement of the department’s long-term objectives.

Our department plays an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the institution and that researchers and visitors can work in a pleasant working environment.
