Financial Unit

The Department of Finance and Controlling of the Economic, Technical and Operational Organization (ETOO) currently has 5 employees.

Our primary tasks are the organisation of financial processes, the management and control of financial work, and tax reporting. Financial discipline and the application of laws, regulations and internal rules on financial management, as well as the constant monitoring of changes, are of key relevance to our work.

Our financial transactions are carried out in bank accounts held by the Hungarian State Treasury, in accordance with the rules published in the treasury’s account management system, through the relevant notices.

Most of the daily tasks involve checking the form and content of the supporting documents on which payments are based, verifying the completion, regularity and legality of the expenditures, and ensuring that the amounts to be transferred and paid in cash are settled on time.

The team takes care of the management of invoices to be issued, the sending of balance statements, the return of incorrect payments and the mailing of payment notices.

Our team is responsible for the timely preparation and completion of tax returns (VAT, environmental product fee, company car tax, rehabilitation contribution and other returns) and represents the institution in related external audits.

We also contribute to the provision of financial data required by the managing authority, the Treasury and other external bodies, as well as to the closing of the interim and the annual accounts.

Our department plays an important role in ensuring that the institution's financial processes comply with all legal requirements, guaranteeing the financial stability of the institution.

Controlling Unit

Our unit currently consists of 5 people and is part of the Economic, Technical and Operational Organisation, within the Department of Finance and Controlling.

In accordance with the internal management rules of the HUN-REN BRC, we keep separate records of the available resources and their use separated by department and by tender. The Controlling Unit carries out the complete data recording in the financial information system for the monitoring and analysis of the financial performance of the tenders.

Our colleagues provide support, monitoring, coordination and other activities to ensure the timely financial settlement of projects in accordance with the call for proposals and on schedule.

We provide professional assistance and support to researchers and the financial officers of the institutes by providing knowledge of the terms and conditions of support contracts and the accounting requirements. We provide help in the preparation of possible contract amendments, in consultation with the contributing organization.

We verify the financial accounts prepared by the institute's financial officers for form and content, numerical and logical correctness, and in the case of accounts involving several institutes, we consolidate and standardise the partial accounts.

Our unit's tasks include management of deficiency completion in the accounts, clarifying issues, making corrections requested by the sponsor, submitting additional documents, answering questions that may arise.

Our project administrators coordinate the preparation of the audits of their projects, participate in on-site inspections and represent the institution.

In addition, our unit is involved in the preparation of the annual report and in the reporting related to tenders.
